If you've been following The Shields Team blog for the past few months, you'll know that we're proud of our community, and want to contribute information to visitors to the area, and as well to potential buyers who may be thinking of relocating. Some of our previous articles featured information on the Story Telling Festival in Historic Jonesborough, and another featured the oh-so-close Davy Crockett Birthplace State Park. Today, we'd like to tell you about another great historic place in our area, The Cobb-Massengill House at Rocky Mount

Convenient to most of the TriCities, Rocky Mount Museum and Living History Site sits at the foot of the beautiful Appalachian Mountains in Piney Flats TN, a rapidly growing area just off of Tennessee Highway 11-E. A visit to the site will include several components starting with a visit to the Massengill Overmountain Museum. Museum highlights include regional historical artifacts from the 18th and 19th centuries, and a host of many other interesting historical-value items! With convenient hours and location, Rocky Mount would be an excellent day trip from most any town in the TriCities! Visit the Rocky Mount Museum and Living History website for more details.

If you're interested in a move to the area, Piney Flats is indeed a growing area. In recent years, numerous new businesses have evolved, and as well the real estate market there is very healthy. At the time of this post, there are currently 72 properties available in the quaint town, and several tracts of land available if you're in the market for new construction. The Shields Team would welcome opportunity to show you 4 great tracts in our listing stable located in Piney Flats, each with water access. The tracts are just off one of the main roads in Piney Flats, and have water and electricity in place. A PERFECT place to build! Learn more about these tracts on The Shields Team Website, then give us a call for your private tour!
