It seems kind of silly to have to ask the question, "is that a bedroom?" when you see what obviously looks like one. Our friend, you might just be surprised that what you see might NOT be a bedroom
Would You Like A Home In The Pocket
There's a fairly new, hot real estate trend in the news recently. Communities developed in small clusters of homes, all facing inward to one common area, whether that be garden courtyards, pedestrian streets, or a shared indoor space, are known as "pocket neighborhoods", and are quite possibly one of the most popular new housing and community trends in many years.
The pocket neighborhood community format was a recurrent topic of conversation at the 24th annual Congress for New Urbanism, held in Detroit this month. This version of co-housing is a growing trend with alot of buyers looking for this type of community, and in some cases is generating a waiting list. This type of community seems to be most popular with retirees looking to downsize, tech-industry types weaned on co-housing and young families who lack the support system provided by nearby relatives.
Buyers in pocket neighborhoods seem to be enchanted by the community culture, availability of space to transition and downsize from a larger home, and the built-in gathering spaces the pocket provides. Being a homeowner in a pocket lends truth to the adage that it's not just the home that matters, it's the right neighborhood that completes the perfect home buying scenario.
