What Do All Those Affiliations Mean On My Realtors ® Business Card
Perhaps you've been handed the business card of a great real estate professional recently. Most have the Realtor's name and phone, and by law in TN, will also have the name and address of the brokerage firm they are affiliated with. There's also what looks like an impressive line of affiliations. Hmm, wonder what those mean?
Your real estate professional is required to pass state governed licensure testing before they can receive receive a Realtor's license. Continuing education is also required of your Realtor over a period of time to ensure timely learning of new regulations. Realtors can also take additional classes and testing that will award them affiliation in certain categories, and today, we're going to share with you what the affiliations are.
ABR® (Accredited Buyer's Representative). The ABR® designation is the benchmark of excellence in buyer representation. This coveted designation is awarded to REALTORS® who meet the specified educational and practical experience criteria, by the Real Estate Buyer's Agent Council (REBAC) of the National Association of REALTORS®.
Why should you look for the ABR® designation before looking for a home? These three letters after a REALTORS® name tell you that you’ll be working with someone committed to your best interests, someone who has both made education a career priority, and has also demonstrated the experience needed to provide the finest in buyer representation.
ABRM(SM) (Accredited Buyer's Representative Manager). The ABRM(SM) designation is the only Buyer Representation Designation for Managers, Brokers and Owners affiliated with the National Association of REALTORS®. The ABRM(SM) designation is awarded by the Real Estate Buyer's Agent Council (REBAC) of the National Association of REALTORS® to those members who meet the extensive specified educational and practical experience criteria.
Certified International Property Specialist Network. The NAR created the CIPS Network Certified International Property Specialist Network, comprised of 1,300 real estate professionals who deal in all types of real estate, but with one common element: They are focused specifically on the international market.
Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES®). A Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES®) is a designation for REALTORS® to address the needs of home buyers age 50+.
Accredited Land Consultants (ALCs)are the most trusted, knowledgeable, experienced, and highest-producing experts in all segments of land. Conferred by the REALTORS® Land Institute, the designation requires successful completion of a rigorous LANDU education program, a specific, high-volume and experience level, and adherence to an honorable Code of Conduct.
Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM)designation is commercial real estate’s global standard for professional achievement, earned through an extensive curriculum of 200 classroom hours and professional experiential requirements. CCIMs are active in 1,000 U.S. markets and 31 other countries and comprise a 13,000-member network that includes brokers, leasing professionals, asset managers, appraisers, corporate real estate executives, investors, lenders, and other allied professionals.
Certified Property Manager. CPM designees are recognized as experts in real estate management. Holding this designation demonstrates expertise and integrity to employers, owners, and investors.
The Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager(CRB) is one of the most respected and relevant designations offered in real estate business management and is awarded to REALTORS® who have completed advanced educational and professional requirements. CRB Designees are better positioned to streamline operations, integrate new technology and apply new trends and business strategies.
Certified Residential Specialist.The CRS designation is the highest credential awarded to residential sales agents, managers, and brokers.
The Counselors of Real Estate®.CRE is an international group of recognized professionals who provide seasoned, expert, objective advice on real property and land-related matters. Only 1,100 practitioners throughout the world carry the CRE® designation.
