It seems kind of silly to have to ask the question, "is that a bedroom?" when you see what obviously looks like one. Our friend, you might just be surprised that what you see might NOT be a bedroom
Lets Go Ubering
With all of the big events happening in the TriCities, festival goers, football fans and the NASCAR crowd is bringing plenty of traffic to our streets. Some events have shuttles that allow you to park off site of an event, and have transportation there. If you you've ever relied on a shuttle to go somewhere, you know that can come with it's own set of headaches. The line, the wait, and having to come and go as dictated by the provider of the ride. Well Mr. Shuttlebus, move on over, because Uber has arrived in the TriCities!
If you don't know about Uber, it's one of the hottest transportation utilities going today. While it's been mostly in larger metropolitan areas for a few years now, Uber opportunities are coming to more and more cities as the franchise expands. The Uber website notes about Uber's beginning:
"On a snowy Paris evening in 2008, Travis Kalanick and Garrett Camp had trouble hailing a cab. So they came up with a simple idea—tap a button, get a ride. What started as an app to request premium black cars in a few metropolitan areas is now changing the logistical fabric of cities around the world. Whether it’s a ride, a sandwich, or a package, we use technology to give people what they want, when they want it."
Uber launched operation here in the TriCities on August 19th. Riders simply download the Uber app for their smartphone, and schedule a ride. Fares are charged to a credit or debit card that stays on file, so all that's left to do is ride. To celebrate the Tri-Cities launch, Uber is giving $15 off your first ride for new Uber users. To redeem, use code: TRICITIES
Uber isn't just for riders, you can also launch your own avenue for making extra cash by signing up to be a driver with Uber. Your car must meet Uber standards, and you will need to register to be considered. All of the details can be found at uber.com.
